Position Opening: Data-Oriented UI/UX Designer

Challenging questions, global impact, fun people!

Talus Analytics is hiring a UI/UX Designer with demonstrated experience designing functional and beautiful UIs and data products that translate complex data into clear and actionable take-aways. We are deeply analytical people and the right candidate will need to go beyond the visual design to really understand the problems we’re tackling and the data that point to the solution and drive decisions. Close collaboration and iteration are central to our work. We are a small team of scientists and engineers, and success in this position will require close close collaboration with our research, product, and development teams to bring designs to life.

This position is based in Boulder, CO, though remote for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Key Skills and Position Requirements

  • Intellectual curiosity and excitement to tackle complex research problems
  • Enjoy a combination of independent work and close collaboration with both our research and development teams
  • Ability to solve problems and drive to solutions independently and within the team, providing insight into best design practices
  • 3+ years experience designing UIs for data visualization and/or web-based tools
  • Experience with design tools including Adobe Illustrator or others, with the ability to work closely with frontend developers working in HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with designing for D3 or other data visualization tools
  • Experience with designing for research, specifically rapid-prototyping and early design iteration to assist in project scoping and definition
  • BA/BS required, MS or PhD also encouraged to apply; position will be commensurate with experience
  • US Citizenship required (due to Federal contracting requirements)

Position Opening: Senior Analyst/Research Product Lead

Do you love using data to solve problems and tell a story? Talus Analytics is hiring for Senior Analyst and Research Product Lead roles to work between our R&D team and clients to find creative solutions for complex problems. In this position, you’ll help define the questions that matter, identify the right solutions, manage both the research and development efforts, and communicate the work in writing and in presentations. You’ll be working closely with our leadership to support a broad range of efforts in risk analysis, emergency management, global public health, and policy, including in support of COVID-19 response efforts. Close collaboration and iteration are central to our work, and we look forward to having you as part of our team!

Key Skills and Position Requirements

  • Experienced in project and/or product management, including providing intellectual leadership on challenging projects, as demonstrated in industry or academia
